Editing Day 3
EDITING DAY 3
When it came to our third editing session we already had the basis of our music video completed so we needed to continue making all of our transitions precise to reflect the depth of our professionalism and capability at editing on Final Cut Pro X.I continued to further the narrative and build up the chronology of our music video, by using longer clips combined with shorted clips in order to show the stagnant and fast paced life of the teenagers which is significantly conventional to the indie genre, and allowed us to reflect this messy structure of a teenage life. The transitions are symbolic to the instability in the characters lives of which we are trying to portray.
I experimented with the blade tool again and alternated the beat of our transitions in order to prevent the music video from being boring and repetitive, as well as creating a complex narrative structure which saw through some quick transitions followed by slower and longer transitions.
I developed our idea of a montage and made a first attempt to incorporate this into the end of our music video whereby I took earlier parts of the narrative and used short, second long shots to build up a montage to show a flash back throughout the instrumental of the song as this adds in a sense of nostalgia to the music video which is arguably conventional to the genre and concept of teenage rebellion.
We completed a rough edit in this editing session and we will get audience feedback from this version and hopefully improve our video.
