Filming- Day 3

Filming Day 3

On our final filming day following complications with the weather and availability of actresses, we compromised with a new character and a different setting. Despite the alterations with our initial plan we overcame the difficulties that we faced and managed to complete our filming to the high standard which we wanted.

As shown in our story board of narrative, we knew that we wanted to utilize a car in our music video as we believed that the imagery of a car in an abandoned car park with the headlights on would help us portray the isolation of the friendship group from society and also reflect conventions of the alternative music genre.

With all of our actresses present, we were able to complete filming the narrative and we did this in a natural, low-key, dim lighting in a desolate car park where we used artificial high key lighting to accentuate the characters attire and features, as well as their actions such as smoking.

We also used the car head lights to create an enigmatic effect in the music video as it appears to be more mischievous and adventurous as opposed to a more high-key and typically 'summery' music video you would perhaps get in a pop music video.

We also used this filming session to get a myriad of experimental shots such as an ariel shot, point of view shot, hand held shot and tracking shot. By doing this I was able to show off my camera skills and angles as well as a creative aspect of our music video.
