Music video song choice

Our Chosen song

For our music video we searched for multiple songs which we felt would match our initial idea well, from various different artists. As we always wanted to do a female alternative artist, we debated between artists like Lorde, Lana Del Rey and Etta Bond. Finally we decided on Lorde- "400 Lux". This song discusses the lives of teenagers who are in love and spend all their time together. I like the themes of the song because they follow the conventions of the alternative music genre. 

The reason which we have chosen this song is because we want to explore the Alternative genre in the way that we can relate to, and because this is a song which has lyrics based off of the lives of teenagers we know that we can create a music video which other teenagers our own ages would enjoy because we are aware of the psychographics within this specific genre. Also as a female I feel more able to think about a music video narrative which has a female artist as opposed to, for example, a male only band. 

This is because we can think about what our narrative characters should wear and how they should act, also as a fan of the Alternative genre and Lorde's music myself, I feel confident to be able to develop a narrative based off of the conventins of music videos which I have already seen.
