Group Collaborations and Creativity

In addition to our creative decisions involving our location, as a group we have also confirmed our narrative decisions as well as our codes and conventions of which we plan to include. 

We now know that our Narrative will not only be a story of two in love, but after much group deliberation we decided that we would be able to explore the conventions of the genre much more if it was simply a group of friends who go to town and have a fun time and would also express their reckless behaviour through smoking/drinking. 

We plan to film loads of footage of a group of friends who are simply walking around the town and going to loads of indie locations which provide the music video with conventional settings and then post-production we will get all of our footage and quite simply create a montage of their day out as reckless teenagers having fun and link certain parts of the video to the lyrics and the symbolic codes behind them. 

As a group we have chosen the outfits of our actors and they are all indie and vintage clothing so that it portrays the alternative genre of which the song is from. This will help us reflect the representation of the characters within the narrative and link it to the indie genre. 

We are also deciding to get one of our actors to effectively 'be' Lorde and have filmed her lip syncing the song on certain settings and locations so that these footage can be shown throughout the music videos narrative in small snippets and also so we can show how we can, as a group, edit our sound and layering in order to match the clip with the song.
