Slow motion; in our music video, the use of slow motion could be effective as I think this would fit in well with the conventions of a music video within the Alternative genre. Additionally, I think the use of slow motion in our music video would fit in with our narrative as it is supposed to be a narrative involving alcohol/ drugs so it could reflect a 'slurred' sense and be really effective. Fade transitions; the use of fade transitions can create a chilled mood/vibe in a music video and also give it a montage effect if shots are constantly switching between different scenes of the narrative through a series of transition fades. The transition fades fit in well as they again create that staggered or buffering effect, which connotes with the alternative genre well. A song which shows this in their music video is Lana Del Rey in her music video White Mustang
Black and white/ filtered color effects; the use of black and white effects/ filters on our music video is ideal as it would allow us to create an indie vibe through colors. We could also show the different moods of the narrative through the darkness of the colored filter. A mixture of colors used would reflect a party/ teen rebellion narrative. It would allow us to show how certain locations fit well with a certain filter. The use of filters in music videos is shown in Lordes song 'Greenlight'...
