Location Research

When it came to deciding on a variation of locations to shoot our music videos we focused of settings which are classed as 'indie', 'urban', 'reckless' settings. 

Living in Manchester, there are many settings which we can utilize in order to create our music videos. Here are some examples...

• Before spending the day with my group, Kate and Lucy, in Manchester exploring potential locations of where to film our music video, we already had a few ideas of where we could go including certain 'indie' and cultural areas of the city such as Northern Quarter. There are many expressive settings which we thought would be perfect for the likes of establishing shots of the music video as well as of where they come into the Narrative. 

We ended up in Northern Quarter like we knew we would and began to take photographs of the settings which gave us inspiration but also helped us confirm that we wanted to film at them locations exactly. The places we saw fit the conventions of the indie genre, that being whether it was a desolate alley way or a graffitied wall; we felt this would be perfect to have our alternative music video shot in a place like this.
